Tania June Sammons

Julia Haywood is compelled to create, but she's always on the move. Instead of a studio filled with art supplies, Julia travels with paper. She buys books of folded pages, or she creates her own. She paused long enough for me to put together this exhibition of her work in 2014. The travel drawings and collages in Mountains, Cities, and Temples captured her distinct vision of place, from her home state of Kentucky to environments around the world, especially Europe and Asia.
