The story of how Alexander Telfair's private home became an “Academy of Arts and Sciences” is revealed in this exhibition of original paintings, sculpture, furniture, architectural elements, and ephemera associated with the Telfair family, and Telfair Museum's early development. This exhibition was developed to explain how the mansion became a museum, a question nearly every visitor to the Academy had, and is now answered.
